A hotel with tradition

The history of our family-run hotel and restaurant begins as early as 1801. The former Röttings Gasthaus offered guests not only food, drinks and overnight accommodation but also parking spaces for horses and cars.

In 1945 the house was occupied by the English and used by them as accommodation for soldiers. About a year later, the Rötting family was able to resume operations and open the doors for guests.

It followed over the years, some conversions and extensions. In 1972 Rötting's inn was renamed Röttings Hotel, a name that is still known to many Winseners today.

In 1989, Margret and Dietrich Heermann ceased operations and leased the hotel for the first time in downtown Winsen. Until the end of 2017, the hotel was run under different names by tenants.

From January 2018, the hotel and restaurant will now be run by the family again in the 9th generation.
